Formula 1 has a rich history of hosting races across the world, yet it is surprising that a few tracks and races have been elevated to legendary status for various reasons. The Italian Grand Prix is a perfect example of a legendary race and circuit. Italy has a rich history of motorsport and Monza circuit is considered as one of the best tracks from this part of the world. The presence of various Italian motorsport teams in the early part of the F1 history coupled with an excellent track has elevated Monza F1 as one of the iconic venues.

Track Details

The 2021 Italian Grand Prix will take place between 3 September - 6 September 2021 at the Autodromo Nazionale Monza, one of the most iconic names in the F1 world. The circuit is located in the Royal Villa of Monza park and is 5973 kilometres long. Monza circuit also hosts the Moto GP Grand Prix of Italy and other smaller races, having been inaugurated in 1923. The first inaugural F1 championship race took place in 1950.

The Autodromo Nazionale Monza also hosts the iconic 1000km Monza event, a truly wonderful endurance event which is part of the Le Mans Series and World Sportscar Championship. The Monza circuit also hosted the legendary Race of Two Worlds, where cars from the US Auto Club National Championship and Formula 1 raced against each other. Monza circuit also hosted Moto GP events and the famous Superbike World Championship.

The race track is located near the city of Monza, north-west of Milan, in Italy. It was built way back in 1922 and it is the world's third motor racing circuit after Indianapolis and Brooklands.

Major features of the main Monza track include the Curva Parabolica, Curva di Lesmo, Curva Grande, and the famous Variante Ascari. Curva Grande is the spectacular high-speed area taken flat out by most F1 drivers.
